The rules for using DoorScore — please read them carefully.

Last updated: March 12, 2026  ·  Effective: March 12, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the DoorScore mobile application or website (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and DoorScore ("we," "us," or "our"). We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes via email or a prominent in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use DoorScore. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using DoorScore on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

3. Account Registration

To access certain features of DoorScore, you must create an account. You agree to:

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information, violate these Terms, or engage in behavior harmful to other users or the platform.

4. Residency Verification

DoorScore requires residency verification before you may publish a review. To verify your residency, you must upload documentation proving you lived at the specific unit you wish to review, such as a lease agreement, utility bill, bank statement, or government mail addressed to you at that address.

By submitting verification documents, you represent and warrant that:

Submitting fraudulent or falsified documents is grounds for immediate account termination and may subject you to legal liability. Verification documents are reviewed manually by our moderation team and deleted 90 days after a verification decision is made. See our Privacy Policy for more details on how verification documents are handled.

5. User Content

Ownership: You retain ownership of the reviews, ratings, photos, and other content ("User Content") you submit to DoorScore.

License to DoorScore: By submitting User Content, you grant DoorScore a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, display, and distribute your User Content in connection with operating and improving the Service.

Content standards: You agree that your User Content will not:

DoorScore reserves the right to remove any User Content that violates these standards, without notice. We may also remove content that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful to the integrity of the platform or its users.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

7. Landlord and Property Manager Policy

DoorScore is a platform built for renters. Landlords, property managers, and their agents are subject to the following restrictions:

DoorScore takes retaliation against reviewers extremely seriously. Verified residents have a right to share their honest experience without fear of reprisal. If you believe a landlord is using DoorScore to retaliate against you, contact us immediately at support@doorscoreapp.com.

8. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

DoorScore may offer optional premium features via in-app purchases or subscriptions processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store using RevenueCat. By making a purchase, you agree to:

Refund requests are governed by the applicable app store's refund policy. We do not process refunds directly. To cancel a subscription, use the subscription management settings in the App Store or Google Play.

9. Intellectual Property

The DoorScore name, logo, application, website, and all associated content — excluding User Content — are owned by DoorScore and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service solely for its intended purpose. Nothing in these Terms grants you a right to use our trademarks, logos, or brand elements without our prior written consent.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. DOORSCORE DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

DOORSCORE DOES NOT ENDORSE, VERIFY BEYOND THE RESIDENCY CHECK, OR TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY USER CONTENT. REVIEWS REFLECT THE OPINIONS OF INDIVIDUAL RESIDENTS AND ARE NOT VERIFIED BY OR ENDORSED BY DOORSCORE. YOU SHOULD NOT RELY SOLELY ON USER CONTENT WHEN MAKING HOUSING DECISIONS.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, DOORSCORE AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, ANY USER CONTENT, OR RELIANCE ON INFORMATION OBTAINED THROUGH THE SERVICE.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) $100 USD, OR (B) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO DOORSCORE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations on liability, so the above limitations may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless DoorScore and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any third-party rights.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, or for any other reason at our sole discretion, with or without notice. You may also delete your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting us.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 5 (User Content license), 9 (Intellectual Property), 10 (Disclaimers), 11 (Limitation of Liability), 12 (Indemnification), and 13 (Governing Law) survive termination. Published reviews may remain visible after account deletion as they may no longer be linked to an identifiable account; your personal information will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Informal resolution: Before initiating any formal legal proceedings, you agree to contact us at legal@doorscoreapp.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

Arbitration: If informal resolution fails, any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through final, binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA), conducted in English. The arbitration shall take place in Delaware, unless both parties agree otherwise.

Class action waiver: You and DoorScore each waive the right to a jury trial and the right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration. All claims must be brought in an individual capacity.

Exceptions: Either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction for claims involving intellectual property infringement or unauthorized access to the Service.

15. General Provisions

Entire agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and DoorScore regarding your use of the Service.

Severability: If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.

Assignment: You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
